TO express :--   

ideas /thoughts /imaginations / opinion /feelings  

        

human beings use words. These are group of words which we use in definite order and gives a complete sense. 


Tt means that :---

When we speak or write we use words. We generally use these words in groups 

For example :--

       Little Johnny sat in a corner. 


A group of words like this, which makes complete sense, is called a sentence. 


Group of words ek definite order me arrange kiye jate hai aur  inse complete and meaningful sense nikalta hai. 


A sentence is an arrangement of a group of words put together in a definite order that expresses a complete and meaningful sense. 

                                 Or 

A sentence is a group of words put together in a certain order giving complete sense. 



Now look at the group of words :---


           The moves earth the sun round. 

              The please shut door. 

                He a playing is  cricket . 

                    Boy dance room                             Group of words hai per sentence nahi kah sakte hai kyokee ye definite order me nahi hai aur nahi complete sense nikalta hai  ok.  

                      

     

Now look at after arranging :------

     The earth moves round the sun. 

     Please shut the door. 

    He is playing a cricket .  

    Boys dance inside the room. 


Ab hum is group of words ko sentence kah sakte hai kyokee ise ek definite order me arrange kiya gaya hai aur inse complete and meaningful sense nikalta hai. 



Let's understands following sentences :-----


Ten and ten is thirty. 

I was born ten hundred years ago. 


Ab, Ye  sentence complete sense to de raha hai lekin iska koi meaningful sense nahi nikal raha hai isliye isko sentence nahi kaha ja sakta hai. 


Now ab conclusion kya nikalta hai - -?? 


Conclusion yahi nikalta hai kee sentence formation me group of words ko ek definite order me arrange karna hi aavashiyak nahi hai balki isse complete aur meaningful sense bhi nikalna bahut aavashiyak hota hai. 



Note:--- ek sentence me praya do ya do se adhik words hota hai lekin imperative sentence ek word se bhi ban sakta hai..... 

For example :----- 

               Go. 

            Come. 

            Laugh. 



                      Sentence =subject +predicte 


A sentence contain subject and predicte that make complete sense or meaning. 

                   Or 

A word or a group of words that make complete sense or meaning. 


Examples :-----

                            I speak. 

                      I speak English. 

               I speak English in the class.

                        Kinds of Sentences 


There are five kinds of sentences as following :----

(1)  assertive sentence (statement /Declarative) 

(2) Interrogative sentence 

(3) Imperative sentence 

(4) optative sentence 

(5) Exclamatory sentence 



According to modern English grammar, sentences are of four kinds :---- 

(1) Those which make statement or assertion 

Eg :---  Little Johnny sat on a wall. 

(2) Those which ask questions 

Eg:---- Where do you live? 

(3) Those which express command, request, or entreaties 

Eg:---- Bring a glass of water. 

(4) Those which express strong feelings 

Eg:---- How cold the night is ! 


                

                       Assertive sentence 

A sentence that makes a statement or assertion is called a Assertive sentence. 

       It is used to :--

   👉Give some facts 

  👉  Describe events or things whether      negative or positive 

  👉  Ends with a full stop (.) 

  

For example :----- Suraj is playing cricket. 

                            Suraj is not an actor. 


It is two type :---- 

  (1) Affirmative or yes - statement 

  (2) Negative or no - statement 


👉 Affirmative or yes - statement 

      Eg:---- Surya studies English. 

                  She may win the prize. 


👉Negative or no - statement 

    Eg:---- He does not study well. 

                I have no money. 

    

      🙄 Negative sentence prayah first auxiliary    verb ke baad not laga denese banta hai. 

    Eg:--- He does not study well. 

              Khushi is not living in Patna these days. 

  

      🤔 Kuchh words negative ka kam karta, not lagane ka garurat nahi patta hai. Such as never, hardly - -etc. 

       Eg:---- They never come in time. 

                  I hardly go there. 

                  Barking dogs seldom bite. 

       🙄 Kisi noun ke pahale negative word 'No' prayog karne se sentence negative banata hai. 

          Eg:---- I have no money. 

                      He has no patience. 



                      Interrogative sentence 

A sentence that asks a question is called an Interrogative sentence. 

It is used to :-----

            👉 Ask someone question 

             👉 Ask someone reason 

              👉 It ends with a mark of interrogation (?)

   For example :----

                               Is that your pen? 

                         Whose books are these? 


    It is two type :----

               (1) yes/no- question 

                (2) wh- question 


     👉yes/no- question 

       Eg :--- Do you read any Magazine? 

                  Can you speak English? 

         

           🤔 Yes/no question form karne ke liye Auxiliary verb ko subject ke pahale rakhana parta hai. 

     🗣️English language me 24 Auxiliary verb hai. 

          Such as :-- is, am, are, was, were, has - - -etc 


        👉wh- question 

         Eg:---- What is your name? 

                     How are you? 

    👉Wh- family :--- what, where, how, whose, whom, who, when, why, which 



                        Imperative sentence 

A sentence that expresses a command, an order or entreaty is called an Imperative sentence. 

Eg:---- Don't go there. 

             Take madicine in time. 

       👉It is used to express some AROP ( advice, request, order /command, prohibition) 

Eh:----- Help the poor. (advice) 

            Never tell a lie. (advice) 

         

           Please lend me hundred rupees. ( request) 

           Have a cup of tea, please. (request) 


            Come in/on time. (order) 

            

            Don't pluck the flowers. (prohibition) 

            Don't park here. (prohibition) 


         👉Imperative sentence me subject 'you' generally chhupa hua rahta hai. You will have to understand that there is a subject 'you'. 

For example :---- come in time. ( you come in time.) 

                       Help the poor. (you help the poor.) 


        🗣️ In the end of imperative sentence  generally there is full stop (.) , but in some cases it is end with note of exclamation (!)  { to express strong command /order} 

  Eg:--- Run !, Hurry !, Catch ! 


       👉 Kabhi - Kabhi  imperative sentence one word ka hee hota hai. 

          Eg:---- Run !, Come !, Go ! 



                          Optative sentence 

   A sentence that expresses some wish, curse blessing or prayer is called an Optative sentence. 

   Eg:---- May God help you ! 

              May you die of croana ! 


     👉It expresses World - Cup. ( wish, curse, prayer /blessing). 

  Eg :--- I wish you a happy new year ! 

              May you die of croana ! 

          May success kiss your feet ! 

              May you live long ! 

          Would that he were alive ! 


        👉Optative sentence generally May se start hota hai aur exclamation Mark (!) se finish hota hai. 

          Eg:--- I wish you a happy new year ! 


         👉  Lekin kuchh cases ( Sentence) me    'May ' chhipa bhi rah sakta hai Phir Bhi uska bhav /arth me koi privantan nahi hota hai. 

For example :--- God bless you! = May God bless you! 

            God save the king! = May God save the king! 



                      Exclamatory sentence 

 A sentence that expresses strong feeling is called an Exclamatory sentence. 

Eg:--- How cold night is ! 

           What a shame ! 


      It is used to :--

          👉To express some strong feeling 

          👉Sudden feeling of surprise, sorrow, joy, anger, regret, contempt, hatred - - - etc. 

 

🤔🤔👉 Generally Exclamatory sentence 'what' or 'how' se start hota hai, lekin aisa koi jaroori nahi hai. Lekin sentence me tone of exclamation ka expression hona chahiye. 

   For example :-- Alas! I am undone.


👉👉👉 How + adjective 

       Eg :-- How beautiful ! 

                 How bad ! 

  👉👉👉What + adjective +noun 

       Eg:-- What a dashing personality ! 

                What a tragic end !
